Dry cargo boxes are used to transport goods that do not require refrigeration. Since they do not require thermal insulation, the choice of box materials is very wide. At present, the most common one is fiberglass-skinned laminated sandwich panel, which uses plywood as the core material and the upper and lower skins are fiberglass sheets.

Fiberglass plywood can avoid the shortcomings of pure plywood

Fiberglass plywood can avoid the shortcomings of pure plywood
Plywood is made up of multiple layers of wooden boards stacked vertically and has the advantages of high strength and high nail-holding ability. But at the same time, it also inevitably has some defects: such as not waterproof, easy to rot, easy to deform, short service life, etc. Adding a layer of fiberglass sheet as a protective layer on its surface can be used to prevent water, moisture, and deformation, and the surface is smoother and flatter.

How to choose the type of fiberglass sheets

Currently, most box truck manufacturers choose FRP/GRP (glass fiber reinforced sheet) as the skin material for truck panels. FRP is lightweight, waterproof, corrosion-resistant, and has a smooth surface, making it an ideal material for plywood protection. TOPOLO has developed a new type of FRP sheet – CFRT (Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic) sheet, which is stronger, resistant to higher operating temperatures and has a longer service life.

Quickly Assemble Dry Freight Truck Bodies

The dry freight truck body composed of FRP plywood sandwich panels can be quickly assembled in the form of CKD (Completely Knocked Down), and the truck body connected by metal profiles has a stable structure. Learn more about CKD dry cargo truck bodies.

Features of our fiberglass plywood box trucks

  • Made of fireproof and waterproof grade plywood, it will not deform, rot, and has a long service life.
  • The skin material uses weather-resistant FRP or CFRT, which will not discolor, fade or become brittle in long-term outdoor applications.
  • Using a high-bond, waterproof adhesive, fiberglass sheets and plywood won’t have delamination issues in humid and high-temperature environments.

How to choose flooring?

We recommend non-slip aluminum flooring or non-slip thermoplastic honeycomb flooring. They are lightweight, have excellent impact resistance and high load-bearing capacity, and are relatively low cost.

Customized standard or non-standard parts

In addition to providing high-quality fiberglass plywood panels for box trucks, TOPOLO also offers a series of kits for assembling truck bodies: subframes, bumpers, doors, door frames, edging profiles, E-tracks, LED lights and other standard or non-standard accessories.
